III Meeting of OCD Brothers
The III Meeting of OCD Religious Brothers of Latin America
organized by the CICLA, was held from the 27th of
February to the 3rd of March 2006, in Sololá,
Guatemala in a very nice retreat house of the Missionaries
of Saint Teresa which is named “Carmel Juyú".
The meeting included the presence of the P. Nicholas García,
General Definitor for Latin America. The organization and
support was the work of Sister Transito of the Cross Valdez,
CMST, of the Central American province. The participants
were 9 Brothers coming from: Vicariate of the Caribbean(1),
Southeastern Brazil(1), Central America(2), Uruguay-Paraguay
Delegation(1), Ecuador(1) and Mexico(3).
The subject for reflection was; "To return to the essential
of the vocation from Brothers ", guided by the document of
General Chapter 2003,"On the way with Santa Teresa and San
John of the Cross". In a Teresian-Sanjuanist atmosphere of
brotherhood, an encounter with the nature, of silence and
reflection we shared what identifies us with our charisma
and spirituality as consecrated men in the Order. At the end
of the encounter we felt renewed in our charismatic and
vocational identity, motivated to express our identity as
Religious Brothers with creative fidelity.
Each one, knowing the gift that God has given him, undertook
tasks for his own Circumscription. The IV Meeting of
Brothers was programmed for Paraguay from the 6th
to the 10th of October, 2008.
